Summer Camp Newsletter: Week 7 (8/3/2026 – 8/7/2026)

This week, we learned about famous inventions and expanded our creativity and problem-solving skills through crafts like pendulum paintings, umbrellas, catapults, collages, and mazes. We also explored how ornaments can be made using natural materials like mugwort and paper, blending them into a pulp and molding it into shapes. For our cooking activity, we made sandwiches with ham, lettuce, cheese, and tomato to take home and enjoy.

Welcome to our week of learning about "Things That Fly!" This week, we explored various vehicles that travel through the sky, as well as living creatures that fly, including birds, butterflies, and dragonflies. We crafted our own paper airplanes, helicopters, and kites, and made colorful butterfly collages, craft-stick dragonflies, and moth and ladybug creations. For our cooking activity, we prepared edible paints and used bread as our canvas for colorful designs.

This week, we traveled Around the World as we explored different countries, cultures, and traditions through stories, art, and hands-on activities. We "visited" the United States, Egypt, China, France, Italy, Mexico, South Korea, and regions of Africa, making American flag collages, Egyptian paper puppets, Chinese lacquer fans, African tribal masks, and building the Eiffel Tower with blocks. For our cooking activity, we made dirt pudding cups with crumbled chocolate cookies, pudding, and gummy worms.
