Meet Shelly Xing!

I have been engaged in Chinese immersion education for over 15 years and have a strong background and a variety of experience in developing and implementing curricula. As the Chinese curriculum director at my previous immersion schools, I formulated the framework for immersion goals and objectives, as well as curated teaching material, such as Meizhou Chinese, for day school (preschool and elementary school) and after school programs. I also identified different ways to assess students’ progress across all grades and subjects, and ensured high quality instruction through modeling, co-planning, providing feedback, and tracking student learning. In addition, I successfully conducted 2 summer camps where we brought students to China to learn together with local students in a truly immersive environment. I was also in charge of recruiting, training and managing Chinese teachers. I love traveling, trying new things, and technology. I enjoy working with young students.
